A lil while back in Kyoto I got this book on Zen & it's relation to Japanese culture. It's really deep shit but I felt I had to get a taste of what it's all about. Anyways, so like a year later... the D.T. Suzuki Museum opens here in Kanazawa. Still oblivious n tired from a long night of thoedness, I visited the museum. Sure enough, it was made for the same dude that wrote the book I was reading.. and he's from Kanazawa. Trippy shit. So after going there once, I knew I had to come back with my camera n capture what I'd seen. So I did. Amazing work by the architect.

Oh & meditating there is the shit.

S'more photos from my time in Tokyo. On my last day, I checked out the Japanese National Museum. They had all of the infamous paintings, masks, samurai swords, etc. Walked my way through the museum, took some photos, & had a cup o' green in the garden/pond out back. Chill shit.

Spent s'more time up in Tokyo with my long-time homie Ian Anderson. Rolled through a few stores (F.I.L., Beams, A.P.C., Bape, etc.) & put him on that japanese culture. It was great choppin' it up again... I filmed a project we're working on together featuring his illustrations. It'll be out when I finish editting the bitch so keep your eyes peeled!

I recently spent some time up in the mountains near Fukui at a mountain biking comp with the homies. Matthias Dandois, this year's flatland BMX champ was there with last year's champ, Uno Yosuke & a few other japanese riders. Dudes hold it down.

As for the night shoot, the same circle of guys were at a friend's ceremony held at a temple. The ceremony was sort of a promotion for him to become head monk. Very traditional, except the circle of candles & flatland BMXing in front of the temple. Fuckin' rad no?

Uhhm.. yes I did.
